Treasures of Aht Urhgan is open
Aht Urhgan is live — Whitegate, Nashmau, forty-eight missions and three new jobs — with every monster out there raised sixty levels, so it is endgame content here rather than level 60 content.
The fourth expansion is open. Aht Urhgan's zones are in, its 48-mission storyline is scripted end to end, its quests are live, and Aht Urhgan Whitegate and Nashmau work as towns: auction counters, mog house, home points and survival guides.
How to get in
- Talk to Faursel in Lower Jeuno, in the Tenshodo HQ area, and take the quest The Road to Aht Urhgan. There is no level requirement on it.
- He hands over the Boarding Permit for 500,000 gil, or for a trade of items instead — several sets are accepted, and everything on them comes from content that is already open.
- Then take the boat from Mhaura: the Boarding Permit and a 100-gil ferry ticket.
- The boat lands in Aht Urhgan Whitegate, not Al Zahbi.
Aht Urhgan's destinations — its home points and survival guides, its Unity and Voidwatch rifts and the six Runic Portal staging points — open the moment The Road to Aht Urhgan hands you the Boarding Permit; until then each row says it is reached through Faursel in Lower Jeuno. Home points and survival guides still have to be touched once in person.
What kind of content this is
Read this part before you buy a permit. Every Aht Urhgan monster was raised sixty levels. Out in the open field they run roughly 120 to 150. This is endgame here — content for a level 99 character with a geared squad behind it, not for a level 60 to 75 one, and nothing about it is tuned the way the retail expansion was. The towns are safe.
Three new jobs
Blue Mage, Corsair and Puppetmaster are on the DWQuest Special shelf at 100 Drift Coins each, priced and shaped exactly like the job unlocks already there. Buying one completes that job's own unlock quest outright: the log entry, the title and the job emote, plus the Corsair's Die for Corsair and the Animator and a named automaton — Harlequin head and frame — for Puppetmaster.
The quests can still be done on foot, and one of them is worth doing that way: Blue Mage's runs entirely inside Whitegate. Corsair's and Puppetmaster's both walk through Arrapago Reef, which is a level 128 to 149 zone on this server. For those two the shelf is the realistic way in.
The forge has a second rung
The DWRaid shop's Reforge tab — it was labelled Relic Reforge; it is now just Reforge — takes a reforged piece one rung further.
| Rung | What goes in | What comes out | Driftmarks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 109 | Dynamis relic, Outfitter AF +1 or Empyrean +2 | its reforged item level 109 self | unchanged |
| 119 | a reforged item level 109 piece | its +1 at item level 119 | 5,000, or 6,000 for a body piece |
All twenty-two jobs, Geomancer and Rune Fencer included. The piece going in is consumed, augments and all; nothing on it carries across, and no item level 109 price moved. Both rungs ask the same door as the 109 shelf, Chains of Promathia finished on the account.
The server's item level ceiling moves with it, 114 to 119. Antonia in Upper Jeuno was the shop that had nothing to say while the cap sat at 114; she now sells the Arasy item level 119 weapons, at 3,000,000 gil each. The DWRaid shop itself still sells nothing above item level 109 — the 119 gear is the forge and Antonia, not the shelf.
Imperial Standing
Kills under Sanction in the Aht Urhgan regions pay Imperial Standing, and !imperial exchanges it for Imperial bronze, silver, mythril and gold pieces — which is what Ghatsad asks for a Puppetmaster frame. Automaton attachments, Corsair cards and dice are sold for gil in Nashmau.
Also today
- The Drift Board gained an Aht Urhgan daily and an Aht Urhgan weekly kill contract, tagged
[TOAU], on the board for as long as the expansion is open. - DWTracker carries Aht Urhgan's missions and quests, step by step, the same as every other storyline it already knew.
- The ArmsDealer gained the Mythic Weapons case described below.
What is not open yet
Plainly, so nobody spends an evening looking for it:
- Nyzul Isle
- Einherjar
- Salvage
- ZNM, the zeni notorious monsters
- The Mythic weapon quests — though the weapons themselves are not out of reach. The DWQuest ArmsDealer gained a Mythic Weapons case today: the level 99 Mythics, the ones without their afterglow, at 1,000 Drift Coins each.
- Besieged
- Pankration
- The Chocobo Circuit
- Assault: only a first handful of missions work. The Commissions Agency's menu lists all fifty because that list is the game client's, not ours — but picking one we have not built yet is refused at the counter, with nothing taken. No tag is wasted finding out.
- The story skip does not cover Aht Urhgan. The Special shelf's 1,000-coin skip still covers Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia only.
