Allowed add-ons and plug-ins
These 158 are the add-ons and plug-ins you may run on DriftwoodXI: 144 Lua add-ons and 14 native plug-ins. Everything the launcher installs for you is on this page, so a fresh install is already within the rules and you never have to check. What you install yourself is the part worth reading.
The rule
- On this page means allowed. Run it, in any combination, on any character.
- Not on this page means not allowed. Using something unlisted is against the terms of use on this server, whether or not it looks harmless.
- Missing is not the same as refused. Almost everything absent from this page is absent because nobody has asked about it. Ask, and if it passes it gets added here by name, for everyone.
This list covers Ashita, which is what the DriftwoodXI launcher installs and configures for you. The same page is built into the launcher under its Allowed tab, and the two are kept saying the same thing.
What is on the list
Nine groups, 158 entries. Jump to the one that would hold what you are looking for, or use your browser's find (Ctrl+F) if you already know the name.
How each of these was decided
The line is not whether an add-on touches the client. Half of this list patches the client, including add-ons the launcher turns on for you by default. The line is these four questions, and an add-on has to answer no to all four:
- Does it play the game while nobody is at the keyboard?
- Does it reach content the character has not earned or travelled to?
- Does it show what the game withholds, from a job or a player that should not see it?
- Does it overrule what the server would otherwise have decided?
Anything that only changes how your own screen draws, sounds, waits or is laid out answers no to all four by definition, which is why so much of this page needed no argument. Being powerful is not on the list: your squad is the most powerful thing on this server and it ships in the box.
DriftwoodXI's own 33
Written for this server and shipped with it. Every one of them also works as a typed command, so turning one off costs you the window and nothing else.

statustimers

LUA
tTimers
LUA
Shows time remaining on the buffs and debuffs you cast and the recast on your spells and abilities, with more display options than the stock timers addon and without its crashes. Enemy debuff bars are an estimate it calculates on your own machine from retail formulas and your own gear, not a readout from the server, so on this server they will sometimes run long or short. Once after you log in at level 99 it sends the job point menu request the client sends when you open that menu, so it can read your job points, and it says so in your chat log when it does. Install it from its GitHub release zip, not the repository download: it keeps its font library (gdifonts) as a submodule, and a plain download leaves that folder empty and the addon unable to load.

mapdot
LUA
Draws enemies on the compass on any job. It only draws entities the server had already sent your client, so it is a display change and not a scan. Tracking a whole zone off-job is a different thing and is not allowed.
partyfinder
LUA
Built for another server, so it has nothing to talk to here. Allowed, and idle.
FancyTrusts
LUA
GlamourUI
LUA
Install it from its release zip; the repository download is missing files and will not load. Two settings to know about. Its replacement chat log reads the chat packets underneath the DriftwoodXI addons, which pass their own data lines through that channel and hide them from the log — so beside them its combat tab shows a stream of raw _DWDATA records. Turn its chat windows off in /glam config and the party list, target bar and the rest sit beside the suite without complaint. And its packet-injection toggle ships off and can stay off: the mob level it would fetch is already given to you by /dwcon and /dwscan.
trainmon
LUA
Tracks your Fields and Grounds of Valor training regime: which monsters the page asks for and how many of each you have felled. It reads that from the chat log the game already shows you and counts your own kills, so it draws a progress window and tells you nothing the client was not holding. Install it from its GitHub release zip, not the repository download: it keeps its font library (gdifonts) as a submodule, and a plain download leaves that folder empty and the addon unable to load.
Balloon
LUA
Draws NPC dialogue in a speech balloon beside or instead of the chat log copy. It only reads the dialogue lines the server had already sent to your chat window and sends nothing back, so it is a presentation change and not an assistant: the one key it forwards into the dialogue system is the Enter you actually pressed while it had hidden the game UI for a cutscene, one line per press and never on its own. Install it from its GitHub release zip, not the repository download: it keeps its font library (gdifonts) as a submodule, and a plain download leaves that folder empty and the addon unable to load. Its window sits on top of everything by default, so expect it to take focus from the DriftwoodXI windows while a balloon is open.

Sequencer
DLL
A sequence runs because you pressed the key that starts it. A sequence that restarts itself, or that fires on something the game said, is the automation this server does not allow.
tHotBar
LUA
A macro fires because you pressed its key or clicked its square, which is the same rule the built-in macro bar follows. Install it from its release zip: the repository keeps its font library as a submodule, and a plain download leaves that folder empty and the addon unable to load.
Upcast
LUA
Picks the highest tier of a spell or ability you already know and sends it as the plain /ma or /ja line you could have typed yourself, which is the point while levelling or level synced. It reads only your own known spell list, job levels and recast timers from the client, so a tier you have not learned or cannot use at your current rank is never chosen, and the server still checks every cast for knowledge, level and MP. The repository keeps its two files at the root rather than in a folder, so the launcher names the folder upcast for you when you install it from the GitHub URL box.

chatfix
LUA
Allowed, and the launcher will not load it. It shifts the chat packet by a byte to suit servers on the layout the client used before its last update, and DriftwoodXI is on the current one — so it eats the first letter of every line the server says and misaddresses your tells. Nothing to turn on; the server needs no shim.

Fancychat
LUA
Replaces the chat log with its own tabbed window, colours, timestamps, a compact combat log, word and tell alerts, saved logs and zone maps, and holds the game log closed underneath it. It reads the lines your client was already going to show you, and the only thing it sends that you did not click or press for is one server message request after login. Its optional combat filter blanks combat text in your own client and nothing more. It skips any line another addon has already hidden, so turn it on after the DriftwoodXI addons and the lines they hide stay hidden; if a new DriftwoodXI addon arrives later, turn Fancychat off and on again to move it back to the end of the list. It files every line by the channel it arrived on and draws its own timestamps, so the /quests feed and the timestamp and customcolors addons change nothing inside it. The plain repository download works, with no submodules and nothing missing, but it is about 100 MB of maps. Updating it replaces the whole folder, so copy out its chatcolors and filters folders first if you made your own.

VanaCompass
LUA
An in-game discovery guide: purchasable spell scrolls, vendor gear and supplies, crafting materials, monster drops, NM spawn areas, quest and mission walkthroughs, and your current map grid. It was written for this server and it reads your own character state over the same two commands the tracker and the travel window already use, so it learns nothing a DriftwoodXI addon was not going to hand you anyway. Its Port button issues the ordinary travel command and the server re-checks the unlock, the gate and the fee exactly as it does when you type it. The repository is itself one addon, so paste the GitHub URL and the launcher installs the whole tree under VanaCompass. One thing to expect: it does not carry the echo helper the DriftwoodXI addons use, so each command it sends appears once in your log when it syncs or ports.

Not allowed
Everything above is the allowed list, so anything absent from it is already not allowed and does not need naming. What is worth spelling out is why something would be refused, because a name can be changed in a minute and a family cannot. If something does one of these four things it is not allowed here, whatever it is called and whoever wrote it.
- 1. It plays while you are not there. Anything that fights, heals, gathers, crafts, sells or travels with nobody at the keyboard. That includes command repeaters, chat-triggered command runners and the external healing and fishing bots. Driving a squad of your own characters is not this, and neither is a macro you pressed. The test is whether the keyboard is attended.
- 2. It reaches content you have not earned. Opening closed doors, walking through gates, warping to places the character has never stood, unlocking travel the character never unlocked, Mog House functions in the field, or acting through the death state. Content on this server opens one expansion at a time and one quest at a time, and a key item is meant to be the thing that opens it.
- 3. It shows you what the game withholds. Rendering hidden or invisible entities, revealing what a GM has hidden, tracking a zone from a job that cannot track, or reading another player through anything they did not choose to show you. Reading your own client is fine. Reading past what the server sent you is not.
- 4. It overrules the server. Editing your own combat state, forging packets the client would never send, spoofing distance, recast, TP or results, or anything aimed at another player, another player's client, or the server itself. This one has no gentle end.
Asking about something that is not here
Ask in Discord, or send it in from inside the game with /dwreport. What helps is
a link to where it came from and a line on what it does for you. Anything that only redraws your
own screen is nearly always a yes, and the answer gets published here either way.
Running something unlisted while you wait for an answer is the wrong thing to do. Please wait for an answer from the staff.
