The Outfitter: artifact armor for Drift Coins, a daily stipend, and the end of the one-shot

A new tab on the Drift Board sells every job's artifact set for Drift Coins, logging in at all now pays your account 50 coins a day, and the two ways an even-level mob could delete you from full health — ancient magic and self-destruct moves — are gone.

Three things landed today, and they are all aimed at the same stretch of the game: the climb through the 50s, where gearing up has been slower and dying has been cheaper than either should be.

The Outfitter

Open /quests and there is a third tab now. The Outfitter sells the level 50-60 artifact armor — every piece, every classic job, twenty jobs in all — for a flat 25 Drift Coins a piece.

Pick a job and its five pieces are on the shelf with their real item icons; hover one and the card shows you the level, the slot, the jobs and the item's own description, so nobody is alt-tabbing to a wiki to find out what a Gallant Surcoat is. Buying is the same two steps as everything else that spends coins here: Buy quotes the price, Confirm is the only thing that pays. Typed works too — !drift shelf war, !drift buy 21, !drift confirm.

Two things worth knowing:

  • The artifact quests are still there, untouched. They award every one of these pieces for free, the way they always have. The shelf is the shortcut past them, not the replacement for them — some of you like the ritual, and nothing about it changed.
  • Everything on the shelf is Rare/Ex. A piece you buy can reach your own characters through DWBags or the Warehouse — gear a mule without ever logging it in — and can never be traded, bazaared, auctioned or delivered to another account. The same rule already covers augmented gear. Coins and gear both live and die with your account, which is exactly why the next part is safe to give away.

50 Drift Coins a day, just for logging in

Every real-life day at JP midnight, the first login on your account — any character, it does not matter which — pays 50 Drift Coins straight into your account's purse, with a line in chat saying so.

That is the whole system. There is nothing to claim, no streak to protect, no alt parade — the coins belong to the account, so the character you were going to play anyway collects them. A couple of quiet minutes a day is two shelf pieces a week even when there is no time to actually play, and every contract and augment you were already earning coins from stacks on top.

The end of the one-shot

Two changes to the monsters, both aimed at the same complaint: getting deleted from full health by something your own level is not difficulty, it is a coin flip you were never asked about.

  • Enemy ancient magic hits for half. When we halved ancient magic cast times so burst mages could land Freeze inside a skillchain window, the monsters inherited the faster cast too — and an even-match caster mob with a full-power Tornado on a short clock was ending fights from full health. Monster-cast ancient magic now lands at half strength. Your own casts, your trusts' and your squad's are exactly as strong as yesterday.
  • Monsters no longer blow themselves up. Self-Destruct in all its bomb and cluster shapes, the goblin bomb-toss backfire, Final Sting, Meltdown and its relatives, Mine Blast — the whole family of moves where a monster kills itself to take you with it is retired from enemy hands. This also closes a farming trick: with the server's monster TP bonus, a goblin fifteen levels up could be tagged, tanked at range, and left to detonate itself for a free boosted kill. A monster that wants your experience bar's respect now has to be killed.

Two carve-outs, on purpose: a Beastmaster's charmed bomb still knows Self-Destruct and a charmed bee still knows Final Sting — those are your tools, not threats — and the handful of battlefield bosses whose whole fight is a scripted countdown to an explosion still explode. You opted into those.

The fine print

The launcher updates dwquest automatically, so the new tab is already in your window — if it is not, restart the launcher and it will be. Everything in this post works typed with no addon at all: !drift help lists the lot. Something looks wrong? /report reaches us from in game, and discord.gg/DriftwoodGaming is the second-shortest path.
