DWTod

Every notorious monster that comes back on a timer, and exactly where its clock is right now — up, dead, dead for how long, back in how long.

DWTod is the camper's window, opened with /tod: every notorious monster on this server that respawns on a timer of its own, in one searchable list, with the server's own answer beside each one. On retail a time of death is hearsay — somebody types a number into a spreadsheet and everybody else believes it. Here the server is standing next to the monster: it knows whether the thing is up, it wrote down the second it died, and it is holding the respawn clock, so the window can say "dead 12 minutes 40 seconds, back in 47 minutes 20 seconds" and be right rather than approximately right. Clocks of two hours or longer survive a server restart, so the long camps are not reset by a patch. Every row also carries what a hunter looks up before setting out, all of it generated from this server's own tables rather than typed by hand: the zone, the level band the monster rolls inside, its respawn window — a fixed timer, or the range it rolls between when the mob rolls one — the coordinates of its spawn point, its family, whether it aggroes and whether it links, and its best drops at THIS server's rates rather than retail's. While a monster is up the row adds the health it has left and who has it claimed. Search by name or zone, and pin the ones you are camping to a watchlist that sits at the top of the window; the countdowns tick on your own machine and the window asks the server again whenever one reaches zero, when you zone, when you press Refresh, and once a minute while it is open — one line a minute, not one a frame. What is deliberately NOT here: lottery pops. Those monsters have no clock of their own — they take a placeholder's slot when a kill rolls in their favour — so there is no honest countdown to draw for them, and /dwscan is the window that names the placeholder you have to kill. Forced and event pops are absent for the same reason. A zone nobody is standing in may not be loaded at all, and an unloaded zone answers "unknown" rather than a guess. Everything here also works typed as !tod.
