A big weekend update. Thank you to everyone who sent reports and requests; several lines below started as one of them.
The short version
- 240 Nemesis monsters have their own item level 119 +1 item, bought with that monster's trophies. Each one comes with four Super Auged augments.
- Five percent of the DWSpoils rolls you win are now Super Auged.
- Rangers learn Hover Shot at 95, and it stacks wherever you stand.
- /dw rail gives you a dock: a slim column of buttons for every DriftwoodXI window, in the order you choose.
- If a monster charms you, your squad stays with you.
- Spell damage against the toughest bosses always lands.
- Launcher 0.36.0 is out. It shows the new +1 items by name.
Nemesis +1 gear
240 Nemesis monsters now have a +1 version of their signature item, at item level 119. Each +1 looks exactly like the item it is based on and comes with four Super Auged augments.
Trophies. Every Nemesis victory earns your account one trophy from that monster. Bringing several of your own characters into the same run still counts as one trophy. Fifty trophies buy that monster's +1.
Buying. Open /nemesis. The tier tables have a Trophies column and a Buy button, and the new Trophies tab lists every monster you have trophies from, with the ones you can already afford first. Hover a +1 to see its card. Buying shows you the item first and asks you to confirm before anything is spent.
Update your launcher first. The +1 items get their names and icons from launcher 0.36.0. The Buy button waits until your game shows the +1's name, so you always know what you are buying. Launchers offer the update at their next start, or within six hours.
Super Auged
Super Auged augments come from a stronger pool than ordinary ones, with values above the usual ceilings.
- Nemesis +1s always carry four of them.
- DWSpoils: five percent of the rolls you win are Super Auged, with one to four augments. The whole server hears about it, and /spoils has a new Super Auged tab listing every find.
Hover Shot
Rangers learn Hover Shot at level 95. It lasts an hour and recasts every three minutes. There is no movement requirement: every ranged attack or ranged weapon skill you complete adds a stack, wherever you are standing, up to 25.
Each stack gives +4 percent ranged damage, +4 ranged accuracy and -2 enmity, and +4 magic accuracy on magical ranged weapon skills. At 25 stacks that is double ranged damage. Switching targets starts the count again from one. Squad Rangers use it too, and the Skirmisher preset includes it.
Charm and your squad
If a monster charms you, your squad no longer vanishes. They stay out, fight the monster that charmed you, and never turn on each other.
Monsters can now charm your squad members too, just as they can charm players. A charmed member fights for the charmer until the charm wears off, the charmer dies, or you change zones, and then it is yours again. While you or a member is charmed, squad orders wait; dismiss still works.
Spell damage always lands
Against the highest-level bosses, the Nemesis and Unleashed copies, some spells could come out below zero. Blue Magic, Primal Rend, Holy Mist, Meteorite, Swipe, Lunge and multi-hit monster and pet skills now always deal damage. Every hit, spell and weapon skill tops out at 99,999.
More in this update
- "Spell interruption rate down" augments now lower your interruption rate, as the name says. Items you already own update on their own.
- DWPort has a Group by expansion checkbox beside Only what I can use. It lists every destination under its expansion, in release order. It is off until you tick it.
- DWUnleashed: the History tab shows how many Esper Cores each event paid.
A dock for your windows
Type /dw rail. A slim column appears with one button for every DriftwoodXI window: Bags, Chat, Raid, Tracker and the rest. Each button opens or closes its window. Hub opens the front door and Options opens the settings.
The Options tab (/dw options) sets each window up the way you like:
- On rail: show it in the column or leave it off.
- With /dw: open it whenever /dw opens the hub.
- At login: open it a few seconds after you arrive. They open one at a time, so the game keeps up.
- Up and Down: arrange the column in your own order, or keep it grouped by category.
Your choices are saved per character.
Every window's title is now just its name, so "DriftwoodXI Bags" is now "Bags", and a stack of collapsed windows reads as a list of names. Because of the new titles, each window opens at its default position and size once. Put it back where you like it and it stays.
For macro writers: every window's command now takes open and close as well as toggling, so /bags open always opens and /bags close always closes.
