If it pays experience, it counts
The /check con now agrees with the experience curve. Anything that pays experience cons Easy Prey or better, so it drops crystals under Signet, feeds seal drops and weapon skill points, and counts for Drift Board contracts. Only creatures that pay nothing con Too Weak -- and the honest con cuts both ways, because Easy Prey aggro is real aggro.
Since the experience pass, this server pays experience for creatures up to 25 levels below you. But the /check window was still using the old book: a creature 14 or more levels down would pay its trickle of experience and still con Too Weak -- and Too Weak is not just a label. It is the switch the game reads for half its rewards. A kill that "checked too weak" dropped no crystal under Signet, no beastmen seal, earned no weapon skill points, and did not move a Drift Board contract, even while the experience landed.
That contradiction is gone. The rule is now one sentence:
If a creature pays experience, it cons Easy Prey or better. Only a creature that pays nothing cons Too Weak.
What that changes
- Crystals drop again. With Signet on (or Sanction and Sigil in their regions), any kill that pays experience can drop its crystal -- all the way down to the bottom of the 25-level range. Farming crystals on an old hunting ground works the way you remember it.
- Seals and geodes ride the same rule. Beastmen seals and Kindred seals drop from anything that pays experience, at their usual rates.
- Weapon skill points count. Latent weapon trials advance on any kill that pays experience.
- The Drift Board agrees. A contract kill counts by the same line: if it pays experience, it credits. The board's own offer pools widened with it -- every level band now draws from every family, zone and ecosystem a player at that band can get credit in, so expect more variety in the daily and weekly rotation.
- The /check window tells the truth. Easy Prey means exactly "worth something"; Too Weak means exactly "worth nothing". Decent Challenge and up have not moved at all, and neither has the experience curve itself -- every kill pays precisely what it paid yesterday.
The honest con cuts both ways
Aggressive creatures decide whether to jump you by the same con. Now that a creature 20 levels down cons Easy Prey, an aggressive creature 20 levels down will aggro you again -- the whole 25-level band that pays you is a band that can come looking for you. Sitting still is still an invitation, sneaking past still works, and creatures more than 25 levels down ignore you exactly as before. The world is a little more awake on the road; bring the Signet you were going to bring anyway, and the trip pays for itself in crystals.
