DWFishing
A costed route from 0 to 110, and the whole fishing system behind it.
DWFishing is the whole fishing system in one window, and its front tab is a ROUTE: a costed plan from skill 0 to 110 that names the rod to buy and where to buy it, the bait, exactly where to stand, roughly how many casts the stretch takes, and when to move on. It opens with the cheapest rod in the game rather than the best one, because the plan is not allowed to spend gil the fishing has not already earned -- so it reads like a route a new character can actually follow, and it marks where you are on it. Where it sends you first is offered as a choice rather than an instruction: the same opening levels costed in several different starting cities, because the solver ranks every water in the game and has no way of knowing which of them you can reach. It also warns you, at each rung, where the guild test falls and which single fish you have to catch and trade to lift your skill cap -- the cap being the commonest reason a fisherman stalls on a flat number, with the game telling you neither the cap nor the reason. Behind the route sits everything it was derived from. Every fish DriftwoodXI can actually give you is in it -- the ones the engine refuses to load are simply absent rather than listed as something you could theoretically catch -- with the skill each one wants, the bait that can hook it at all, every pool it swims in, its best hours and moon phases, and the rods that will not lose it. Bait affinity is the thing most guides get wrong by omission: it is a hard gate, not a preference. A bait with no affinity for a fish will never hook that fish, at any skill, in any weather, however long you stand there. There is also the gear the engine genuinely reads -- a short, specific list, and anything not on it does nothing for fishing whatever its description implies -- and the monsters you can hook by accident, with the bait each one demands. And it states one thing no wiki anywhere will tell you, because it is only true here: the skill-up roll is not out of a hundred, and this server's five-times multiplier pushes it past that roll across most of the window. The famous rule that you should chase fish eleven levels above your skill stops mattering on DriftwoodXI -- everything in range is already a near-certain skill-up, so what actually decides your afternoon is how quickly you can land anything above your level at all, which is exactly what the route optimises for. Nothing in the guide is hand-typed: it is generated from the server's own fishing tables, its real shop prices, and the fishing engine's own tuning constants, and a deploy gate refuses to ship if any of them have drifted apart, so the window cannot quietly start describing a game we no longer run. Open it with /dwfishing, or type !fish route for the whole plan in chat, with no addon at all.
