DWEsper

Magicite from every kill, thirty-two Espers to make and attune, and the spells and abilities they lend whatever job you are on.

DWEsper is Magicite, Espers and attunement, opened with /esper: the progression meant to outlast Ascension and job mastery. Every kill that pays you experience pays Magicite — a wallet of thirty counters, eight elements and twenty-two jobs: the element of what died, its job, and your own job, each the full amount, and more for a tougher kill or a real notorious monster — one of a kind on a timer of an hour or more, a placeholder or a pop, never one that respawns like the camp around it or comes by the dozen. Magicite plus Esper Cores make Espers: the thirty-one Final Fantasy VI Espers, Cait Sith to Diabolos, and a thirty-second, Driftwood, which needs all thirty-one mastered and opens a second slot. A Core is a wallet counter, never an item, and it drops from Unleashed kills — every paid account rolls once per kill, with a quiet pity so nobody stays dry for long. One Esper is equipped at a time; an equipped Esper lends its spells, job abilities, traits and stat line to whatever job you are on, and fighting with it equipped attunes it — about three thousand incredibly tough kills master one — at which point it is mastered forever, lends all of that whether equipped or not, and doubles its stat line while it is the one equipped. Unequip an unmastered Esper and what it lent stops at once, but the attunement is kept. Boss content pays too: an Unleashed kill, a DWRaid clear, a Nemesis defeat and a Gauntlet wave clear each credit the equipped Esper. The window has three tabs. Espers is a 4x8 grid of the thirty-two — name in its tier's colour, element, an attunement bar for an owned one, a badge for equipped or mastered — and for the one you select, what it grants, its line, its price against the Magicite you hold, its Cores against yours, and Create, Equip and Unequip. Magicite is the wallet, held and lifetime for every kind. Grants is every spell and ability your equipped or mastered Espers lend, each with a Cast or Use button that asks the server to cast it at your current target — the stock client builds its magic menu from your main and sub job and cannot send a spell it thinks you do not know — and a typed or macro'd /ma or /ja naming a granted spell or ability is routed through the same door, so your macros work, while anything no Esper lends is left exactly alone. The server enforces every rule: the price is re-read at confirm, no swapping while engaged, and the Cores and the Driftwood condition are its to judge. Everything here also works typed as !esper.
