Finishing Chains of Promathia
The road from the Dawn fight to The Last Verse, step by step, including the three Jeuno quests that actually close the CoP log and unlock the Promyvion raid tier and the 109 shelf.
The Promyvion tier of DWRaid and the item level 109 shelf open when your account has finished Chains of Promathia. On the server that means your CoP mission log reads "The Last Verse" (mission 8-5). A lot of people stop one step short of that without knowing it, so here is the whole road from the final fight to the finish line, with the traps marked.
The short version: winning Dawn (8-4) is not the end. After Dawn's last scene the log still says "Dawn", and it only moves to "The Last Verse" when you turn in the Jeuno quest Apocalypse Nigh to Gilgamesh in Norg. Getting there takes three quests in order: Storms of Fate, Shadows of the Departed, Apocalypse Nigh. Shadows of the Departed also needs Rise of the Zilart finished, and Apocalypse Nigh needs Rank 5 in your home nation.
The DWTracker addon shows every one of these steps in game and highlights the one you are on. If you are ever unsure where you are, open it first.
Part 1. Dawn (mission 8-4)
- Get to the Empyreal Paradox. In the Garden of Ru'Hmet, stand on the central platform beside the Cermet Portal (around x -419, z 379) and accept the offer to travel to the Empyreal Paradox.
- Examine the Transcendental Radiance at the Paradox entrance (x 540, z -598) for a scene. Examine it again to enter the fight.
- The fight. Promathia, two forms. Level cap 75, up to 6 players, trusts allowed, 30 minutes. Prishe and Selh'teus fight beside you.
- Do not skip the scenes after the win. You are moved twice inside the Paradox while they play. The last one gives you the key item Tear of Altana and drops you in Al'Taieu. If you did not get the Tear, the scenes did not finish; zone back into the Paradox.
- Now wait for midnight, Japan time. The next part is locked until then. That is 3:00 PM UTC, which is 11:00 AM US Eastern in summer and 10:00 AM in winter. This is a real-time clock, not a Vana'diel one.
- Five farewells, any order. Nothing further happens until all five are seen, and there is no message telling you which ones you have missed.
The five farewells:
- Louverance. Talk to Hinaree in Southern San d'Oria (x -302, z 98, by the well). Zone into Uleguerand Range for a scene. Come back to Southern San d'Oria and walk into the square just east of Hinaree for the last scene.
- The Chebukki siblings. Talk to Chipmy-Popmy in Port Windurst (x -183, z 74, by the docks). Then go to Bibiki Bay, take the Manaclipper to Purgonorgo Isle, and examine the "??? Warmachine" on the isle (x -345, z -977). This is the one most people miss. Talking to Chipmy-Popmy alone is not enough, and the Warmachine is on the island, not the mainland.
- The Shikaree sisters. Zone into Mhaura.
- The Moblins. Zone into Oldton Movalpolos.
- Tenzen. Talk to Cid in the Metalworks.
Then:
- Ru'Lude Gardens. Walk up to the Ducal Palace doors on the upper level. A scene plays only when all five farewells are done.
- Upper Jeuno. Examine the door named "Marble Bridge" (x -98, z 91) for a scene. Examine it again afterwards to choose your ring: Rajas, Sattva or Tamas.
- Tavnazian Safehold. Examine the "Walnut Door" on the lowest level (x 117, z 42) for a scene.
- Lufaise Meadows. Go to x 199, z 337 for the last scene of Dawn. You get the title Banisher of Emptiness.
Your log still says "Dawn" at this point. That is correct. Keep going.
Part 2. Storms of Fate
- Ru'Lude Gardens. Walk up to the palace doors again. Accept the quest when asked.
- Misareaux Coast. Examine the Dilapidated Gate, the entrance to Riverne Site #B01 (x -260, z 280), for a scene.
- Riverne Site #B01. Make your way to the Unstable Displacement at the far north-west (x -613, z 693). Some displacements on the way only open when you trade them a Giant Scale, which the wyverns in Riverne drop, so bring a couple. Examine the Unstable Displacement for a scene, then examine it again to enter the fight.
- The fight. Bahamut. Up to 18 players, no level cap, trusts allowed, 30 minutes. You leave with the key item Whisper of the Wyrmking.
- Ru'Lude Gardens. Palace doors, scene, quest complete.
Part 3. Check your Zilart missions
Shadows of the Departed will not start unless your Rise of the Zilart log is sitting on mission 17, Awakening, with both of its optional scenes seen. That means:
- Rise of the Zilart complete through mission 16, The Celestial Nexus.
- Zone into Norg once for the scene with Gilgamesh.
- In Lower Jeuno, examine the door to Neptune's Spire (x 38, z -17) for the scene with Aldo.
If you have not done Zilart at all, do that first. It is a long chain but every fight in it is open on this server.
Part 4. Shadows of the Departed
- Wait one Vana'diel day after finishing Storms of Fate. A Vana'diel day is under an hour of real time and the wait ends at the next Vana'diel midnight, so it is often much shorter.
- Ru'Lude Gardens. Palace doors, scene, you receive the key item Note written by Eshantarl.
- Three slivers. Examine the Memory Flux in each Promyvion: Promyvion-Dem (x 220, z 340), Promyvion-Holla (x 100, z -140), Promyvion-Mea (x 260, z 180). There is no level cap in the Promyvions here.
- Ru'Lude Gardens. Palace doors, scene, quest complete. You must zone out of Ru'Lude Gardens at least once before the next quest will start.
Part 5. Apocalypse Nigh
- Wait one Vana'diel day after finishing Shadows of the Departed.
- Ru'Lude Gardens. Palace doors, scene, accept the quest.
- Sealion's Den. Zone in (from Misareaux Coast) for a scene.
- Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi. Examine the Gate of the Gods (x -20, z -280). The scene moves you to the Garden of Ru'Hmet.
- Empyreal Paradox. Take the central platform in the Garden of Ru'Hmet across, examine the Transcendental Radiance for a scene, then examine it again to enter the fight.
- The fight. Kam'lanaut and Eald'narche together. Up to 6 players, no level cap, trusts allowed, 30 minutes. After the win a scene plays and you land in Al'Taieu.
- Lower Jeuno. Talk to Aldo at Neptune's Spire (x 21, z -62). He will only talk business if you are Rank 5 or higher in your home nation. If you are not, do your nation missions up to Rank 5 and come back.
- Wait one Vana'diel day. If you go to Norg the same day, the Oaken Door (x 102, z -12) has an extra scene for you, but it is optional.
- Norg. Talk to Gilgamesh (x 122, z -12) and pick an earring: Static, Magnetic, Hollow or Ethereal. Keep a free inventory slot for it.
That scene is the one that finishes everything. Your CoP log now reads "The Last Verse", your Zilart log reads "The Last Verse", and the DWRaid Promyvion tier and the 109 shelf open for every character on your account within a few seconds.
When a scene does not play
- Dawn's five farewells only open after midnight Japan time. Before that, every one of the five places is silent.
- The Ru'Lude Gardens scene after the farewells needs all five done. The usual missing one is the Warmachine on Purgonorgo Isle in Bibiki Bay.
- The Ru'Lude Gardens scene is at the palace doors on the upper level, not at the zone entrance.
- Before the 2026-09-04 update, throwing away a Rajas, Sattva or Tamas ring from the Jeweler (or letting one get pushed out of a full recycle bin) silently locked the farewells for 27 days. That is fixed, and everyone it had caught was cleared. If your farewells are still silent after midnight Japan time, tell us and a GM will look.
- The Vana'diel-day waits between the three quests are real. Check the in-game clock and come back after Vana'diel midnight.
- Shadows of the Departed needs Zilart parked on Awakening with both scenes seen. Apocalypse Nigh needs Rank 5 at Aldo.
- If you are stuck after all that, tell us your character name and which scene you expected. A GM can read your exact mission state in a few seconds.
