DWQuest
The Drift Board: daily and weekly contracts, and the Exchange, Outfitter, Pop-Items shelf, Jeweler and Artisan they feed.
DWQuest is the Drift Board, opened with /quests from anywhere in Vana'diel -- there is no quest giver to walk to, because the window is the quest giver. Ten daily contracts roll every Vana'diel day and nine weeklies every Vana'diel week -- one pair hunts Chains of Promathia's raised continent and, while Treasures of Aht Urhgan is open, a second pair hunts Aht Urhgan, one daily is a bounty at three times the count, one daily roams to a zone borrowed from another level band, an instanced pair counts Gauntlet floors and Raid encounters, and four ask for something other than a kill: craft a dozen items on whichever crystal the board names today (fifty on this week's), fish up ten, or swing a HELM tool fifty times -- pitched at your level band and its neighbours, and everyone in that band sees the same nineteen -- so a contract is something to talk about rather than a private roll. One daily slot and one weekly slot are wildcards whose shape changes with the period: finish five with a weapon skill, take five between dusk and dawn, or take three while the weather is up -- fewer kills and better pay, because a mutator does not make the fight harder, it makes most of your kills not count -- and the weekly asks five times as much for five times the pay. An ecosystem contract sits in each period rather than one family: 5 Beasts today, 25 Undead this week. And under your own board sits a contract for the entire server -- nobody accepts it, every credited kill from every character on every account pushes it, the target is always something a level 12 and a level 99 can both hunt, and when it falls everyone who helped past a small threshold is paid at once, wherever they are. Accept from where you are standing and the counter moves as you fight rather than on a hand-in: a kill of any level counts when you are within a hundred yalms of it, any character on your account advances the same contract, and the payout lands the moment the last one falls. The arrows by the band label page through all five bands' boards, and any band at or below your own can be signed from where you are standing -- a level 99 farming the low zones never has to equip a level 20 job to take their contracts, only a band above yours stays a look. Contracts pay Drift Coins, a currency that touches nothing else on this server -- not gil, not conquest, not sparks -- and what they buy is the Drift Exchange: four instant augments a day, rotating on the same Vana'diel clock, applied to gear already in your bags or to the bags of a character you are not logged into. Nothing is bought in one line -- !drift augment quotes the price and shows you the item's four slots, and !drift confirm is the only line that spends. An augmented item becomes account-exclusive in exchange: no auction house, no trade, no bazaar, though it still posts through the delivery box to your own characters. Nothing expires under you: a contract signed minutes before a rotation still gets a full period to finish. The Exchange is the window's second tab: today's four offers with their prices and the countdown to the next roll, and under each one a picker showing exactly the gear it can go on -- an item that is equipped, enchanted, a weapon-skill weapon or priced in your bazaar is not in the list at all, because the list is the server's own eligibility screen rather than your inventory. A dropdown swaps it to any character on your account who is logged out. Picking an item asks for a price and shows the four slots with what is in each; only then does a Confirm button exist, only for that quote, and a refusal does not bring it back. Beside the Exchange sits an Augments tab: every augment the server's engine actually implements, listed with the number your gear slots store beside the words it means, searchable by name or by number -- the ones the Exchange sells are marked with their rank and price, today's four offers are highlighted live, and a highlighted row can be chosen right there and handed to the Exchange's picker. The same reference decodes the Exchange's own slot views in place, so a full item shows Dbl.Atk.+3% instead of a bare augment number when you are choosing which slot to give up. The fourth tab is the Outfitter: the level 50-60 artifact sets at 25 Drift Coins a piece, the Dynamis relic armor sets -- all twenty-two jobs, Rune Fencer and Geomancer included -- at 125, the level 74 artifact +1 sets at 100, the Abyssea-era Empyrean +2 sets (the level 85 ones, Ravager's to Savant's) at 200, the job capes, and now the level 27-33 race gear, every piece of it, at 25 a piece -- so a main outfits its alts' RSE without ever logging them in to quest it one chest at a time, which was always this server's point. Paged by job (the race gear has a page of its own), each row drawn with the item's own icon and a hover card so nobody has to alt-tab to a wiki. It exists because the artifact quests are long and this gear is a ladder -- the quests and Dynamis still award every piece and remain the free road; the shelf is the shortcut. Everything on it is Rare/Ex, so a piece can reach your own characters through DWBags or the warehouse and can never leave your account -- and logging in at all pays a 50-coin daily stipend to your account at JP midnight, whichever character you log in on, so two quiet days is a shelf piece even when there is no time to play. And beside them all sits the Pop-Items shelf: the classic forced-spawn keys -- the leveling-era curiosities, the mid-game hunts, each sky god's gem-and-stone pair, and the ground kings' pops up through Nidhogg, King Behemoth and Aspidochelone -- priced not in coins but in what Vana'diel already made you carry: Dynamis hundred-pieces (any mix of the three beastman families) plus Job Testimonies, each one a different job's, taken straight from your bag on a quoted, confirmed purchase. Two currencies the endgame had orphaned -- relic armor flows through the Outfitter now, and the testimonies' Maat fights left with the level caps -- become the road to every camped ??? in the game. The ArmsDealer sells finished weapons the same quoted, confirmed way, one case to a dropdown: the level 40-ish artifact weapons at 25 Drift Coins, the level 75 Dynamis ultimates at 250, the Empyreans at 1,000, and, since Treasures of Aht Urhgan opened, a Mythic Weapons case -- the twenty level 99 Mythics, the ones without their afterglow -- at 1,000 each. The retail road to a Mythic is not in; this is. Last of all sits the Jeweler: the accessories Chains of Promathia's endgame used to gate -- the five earrings the Wyrmking fight awards at 100 Drift Coins, the three Sea earrings at 200, and the Rajas, Sattva and Tamas rings at 300 -- every one Rare/Ex, the whole shelf on one page under its case headers, bought the same quoted-then-confirmed way. Beside it sits the Artisan, for the crafters and the fishers: everything the nine crafting guilds sell for guild points -- all forty-five of their key items, from Patissier to Mooching -- for Drift Coins instead, 25 to 300 of them read straight off each key item's own guild-point price, plus Lu Shang's Fishing Rod for 500. The rank each guild asks for still applies, and it is the guild's own table the server reads, so a row you cannot be sold yet is greyed with the reason; the guilds go on selling them their own way, for anyone who likes the turn-ins. Its last page is Blue Magic: Self-Destruct for 50 Drift Coins and Final Sting for 100 -- the two blue spells this server's enemies never use, since the self-destruct moves were retired from every enemy, so nobody could learn them the ordinary way; a Blue Mage of the spell's own level, main or support, buys the spell outright. After it comes the Special shelf, services rather than items. Since 2026-09-13 it unlocks jobs: every non-retail job for 100 Drift Coins -- Paladin, Dark Knight, Beastmaster, Bard, Ranger, Summoner, Samurai, Ninja and Dragoon, and since Treasures of Aht Urhgan opened, Blue Mage, Corsair and Puppetmaster, with the Wings of the Goddess and Adoulin jobs to come the day those expansions open here -- each purchase completing that job's own unlock quest outright, so the log entry, the fame, the title and the job emote are exactly what the walk to the NPC would have left you with, the Corsair's Die and the Puppetmaster's Animator and first automaton included; a job whose expansion is not open is not offered at all. Beside them, three older services: rename any character on your account for 200 Drift Coins (the lobby's own name rules, the old name freed, your logged-in character takes its new name at the next login); skip to the end of Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia for 1,000, which writes exactly the mission state a finisher holds and nothing else -- no key items, no rank, no quest rewards -- so Sky, Sea and the item level ladder open the way they would have; and, only once both stories are done, every Zilart and Promathia waypoint in DWPort for 250 -- the row stays greyed until you qualify, and the server refuses it too. And on the header line, beside the purse, a gil exchange: Drift Coins at 5,000 gil each, up to a hundred at a time, quoted then confirmed like every other purchase -- the gil sink for anyone sitting on millions with nothing left to buy. Everything every tab does also works typed as !drift, and every number shown is a number the server said -- there is no arithmetic in it at all. One last thing it does has nothing to do with contracts: Fields of Valor, Grounds of Valor and Records of Eminence reward text -- the progress line, the completion, the prowess, the gil, the tabs and the experience -- is printed in the add-on's own chat window rather than the battle log, because the client draws those lines itself and the server has no way to send them anywhere else. A page completion arriving in the middle of an exp party is a payout nobody reads. Type /quests rewards off if you would rather have them where the client puts them; the setting is remembered.
